It's also been a really busy period for Gaming all over the WOTLK Gold world. The Game Spot office, and certain things have come into a halt due the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I remember Jeff Kaplan in an interview in which he talked about how, when they were working on the WoW Team, I think it was Battlefield Vietnam release, where the entire office went away for a week to just play this game. Does Breath of the Wild had an effect on the development or the games you are spending your time playing in your spare time?
Ryan Shwayder: [laughs] But I don't believe it's true. We're all gamers at heart We play games throughout the day. Therefore, if something comes out that means maybe we shift which kind of game that we're in at that time, but it doesn't mean that we have to stop what we're doing and then suddenly get into games. We play them almost every day. We're still gamer-nerds even though we develop games to earn money.
Morgan Day: We've all had a lot of experience figuring how to balance loving video games, while trying to be able to do everything else. [laughs]What's one of the things you think hasn't received the same amount of attention as it as the Tomb of Sargeras Patch due to come to launch?
RS: I think one thing we haven't particularly highlighted is the concept of, in the case of Broken Shore itself, the idea of a dynamic setting that is a fluid flowing and shifting content of Broken Shore. Broken Shore.
One of the things we've always wanted to do using the world quest system and that was something we weren't able to do across the entire Broken Isles, but we were able to accomplish it in certain areas--is to change the locations that the world quests are conducted in modify their population, change out what is happening in that region at the time of this world quest. And that is one of the things we've managed to do for the Broken Shore, because it's not a level-up zone, we don't have to be worried about the population changing out , making it difficult to fulfill the quests that you're supposed to to do.
In that light we've made it so that when you log in, each day that you sign in, and you go to Broken Shore or go to Broken Isles, you don't know exactly what to do. When you arrive, take a look at the situation and see how you'll take on the Legion now.
It is a feeling with Legion that this effect is restricted by the islands, as opposed to something like buy WOW WOTLK Classic Gold Cataclysm where you experienced these wide-reaching consequences that affected all of Azeroth. Could this be an intentional decision? Do you think that the effects of the Legion will be felt more broadly in Azeroth at any point?
