The game has had instability issues that continue to D2R Items plague the game, with servers shutting down multiple times since the game's launch. Blizzard added a queue for logins during times of high server activity to prevent that from being repeated.
Diablo IV, the next game in the series, was delayed in the last Activision Blizzard investor call. Although the game doesn't have an precise release dates, or even a release timeframe, it seems fans will have to wait even longer before returning to Sanctuary. Below are the full update notes from Diablo 2: Resurrected update 11.5.
"We realize that these products complement well-known playstyles and build designs that are loved by the players," Blizzard writes. "Furthermore we've heard that the community has been asking to add these elements into the single player experience for a while. Players who play solo now can also partake in the metas that were popularized from the original multi-player Ladder experience. Additionally, single players can now gain accessibility to Pandemonium Event and Uber Diablo content."
Blizzard says that in order to ensure server stability at launch, the game's debut ladder season will commence just a couple of days after the game's release but will not be available in the beginning of the day.
Diablo 2: Resurrected just ended its early access beta with an open beta planned to begin August 20. A small tweak that's coming in the open beta due to early beta feedback from the early access beta is that the method of purchasing skills has been changed so that it requires separate presses. This was done in order to help prevent players from accidently assigning skill points, in addition to the free respec earned by players in the game's initial Act assigning skill points can't be done until far further into the game, and with D2R Ladder Items Buy far more difficulty.
