Design and Process of SAND CASTING

Sand casting, the most commonly used casting process, uses fungus sand molds to form complex metal parts that can be made from almost any alloy. Since the sand mold must be destroyed to remove the part, called molding, Lost wax Casting China usually has a low production rate. The sand molding process involves the use of an oven, a metal, a model and a sand mold. The metal is melted in the oven, then placed in a spoon and poured into the cavity of the sand mold, which is formed by the scheme. The sand mold is separated along a separation line and the solidified iron can be removed.

Sand casting is used to produce a wide variety of metal components with complex geometries. The size and weight of these parts can vary considerably, from a few ounces to several tons. Some small jets of sand include components such as gears, pulleys, crankshafts, cranks and propellers. The most important applications include housings for large equipment and heavy machinery bases. Sand casting is also common in the production of automotive components, such as engine blocks, engine manifolds, heads and transmission housings

Process Cycle

The sand casting treatment cycle consists of six main phases, explained below. 316 Stainless steel casting

1.Construction of molds: the first step in the sand casting process is the creation of the casting mold. In a single-use molding process, this step must be performed for each foundry.

2.Fixation: once produced, the mold must be prepared to pour the molten metal.

3. Melting: the molten metal is kept at a defined temperature in an oven. Once the mold is tightened, the molten metal can be extracted from its container into the oven and poured into the mold.

4.Cooling: the molten metal poured into the mold will start to cool and solidify once it enters the cavity.

5.Disposal: once the predetermined solidification time has elapsed, the sand mold may break and discard molding.

6.Cutting: during cooling, the material of the channels in the mold solidifies attached to the piece. This excess material must be removed from the foundry, manually, by cutting or sawing or by a debarring press.
