I just love Friday weddings in Rochester, Mn, and there are a few reasons why.  After 16 years of wedding photography in Rochester, Minnesota I have decided I love Friday weddings.  Now don’t get me wrong, a good Saturday wedding is great and I love all my weddings, but Fridays are my thing.  Friday is that day of the week you are just ready for the weekend.  And what better way to get that party started by celebrating the marriage of two lovely people.   Sometimes venues and service providers give discounts for Friday weddings, which also helps the couple save money but still have a great Wedding photography Rochester MN.

My favorite Friday wedding is one that starts at 5pm, and rolls right into a beautiful, fun reception.  Can you imagine having a beautiful late afternoon wedding under the oak tree at Mayowood Stone Barn? The light at the end of the day is exceptional for photographs and is quite romantic as well. After your wedding you can have a cocktail hour on the grounds while you mingle with your guests and take a few images with your wedding photographer.  Six o’clock rolls around and you and and your new spouse can open the barn doors or signal dinner with the ringing of a bell.  A large spread of yummy food, desserts, drinks and music is in abundance as your wedding party and family cheers to you and your new life together.  Your first dance together happens shortly after dinner, with more drinks and dessert served to your guests.  Everyone has a great time and goes home feeling happy and ready for a weekend of relaxation.  Another great thing about Friday weddings is that you get more time with your guests.  A lot of time family and friends travel from out of state and stay for a long extended weekend.  Now you have all day Saturday and Sunday to hang with family, have a gift opening, relax, perhaps take part in some new family traditions and get ready for your honeymoon!
