| Biography:
I Man, Tony Ranks, was born in Jamaica, inna small village way up in the hills. From youth one of my main interests was to play Reggae sound system and to DJ.
The Rockers International Sound (own by Augustus Pablo) gave I the first opportunity to involve in music.
Although this Sound was located in Kingston, they came often to play in my village.
After few years, they left a part of their sound system with my friends (Dock and Inie) who started to organize dance in the region.
I participated playing music with them for a while.
And in 1991, some Swiss friends, from Geneva, invited I to come to see the Genevian vibes.
One of my friends, Asher who create the first sound system in Geneva I involve in many of his sessions.
At the same time, I and Nello B., we were singing with a band called Restless Mashaits.
After certain time, I realized that Geneva and his reggae fans inspired I to set up my own sound system.
And it was like this that Root Vibration Sound hit the road
Most of the music that Roots Vibration plays is roots reggae and roots ragga dancehall.
Since 1996, year of my first dance, until now, I organized a live concert with a martinican group named Pawolka; I took part in different events such as the Gena Festival 2000(Geneva) and the reggae dancehall night in the Montreux Jazz Festival 2001.
In 2002-2003, I organized many dancehall nights (with Natural Black, D.J. Zumjay, with a roots singer Ras Charmer).
Since 2010, I started to build riddims and produce some Jamaican artists. In August of the same year, I used one of my riddim called “Jah Love Riddim” to produce my first Album. It was a great experience to work with people who involved in the music business in Jamaica.
If I should describe my first production, I will represent it like this: “One riddim with different artists for a unique vibration”.
