About Bad mude Hey what’s good! …It’s me, Howard “Badmude”
Thomas. Well, first I would like to say that, music is me and I am
music. I was born and raised in St Thomas, Jamaica W.I. I began writing
and singing reggae music when I was about 14 are 15 years old. My
friends and I use to write together and even competed against each
other.
Music has always been my passion. I have made numerous
sacrifices to be able to do what I love, music. I remember many times,
when I was home in Jamaica,
I used my last dime to pay my bus fare to get to the studio, not
knowing how I am going to get back home or even eat. But like my
grandmother used to say, “If you want good, your nose must run”. Every
opportunity I get to perform, I took it. I use to enter contest and
many shows around my town.
In 1997, I migrated to America. At first, I did not know anyone in the music industry. Then I found out my cousins owned a sound system in Paterson N.J. The name was Bullet Proof.
The sound was the hottest sound system in N.J. at the time.I again
seized the opportunity to voice out, whenever possible. But I was
hungry, I was hungry to perform and be heard. My life changed one day
when I least expected it. I went to Eastside Park
in Paterson N.J. one summer day, just to chill. To my surprise, there
was a stage show going on. I watched and enjoyed for awhile. That was
the first time I saw Murder Ink perform. They were known as the Hottest
Reggae crew at that time. Their performance inspired me to really take
my music to the next level here in the US.
The next time the
show comes around at the park. I made sure I was there. I went on stage
did my thing. . I was also recognized by Murder Ink at this show. They
were so impressed with my performance; they introduced me to their
producer, Bad Rat. Bat Rat then introduced me to Nawtee Child. It was
with Nawtee Child that we created hits such as Its M.U.D.E, Like Busy
and God Bless U. It was at that show I earned my first set of fans and
I also met another up coming reggae singer, Bonifide. Since then we did
many songs together.
Bonifide also got connected with .A-Phat
Productions, through a friend of his name AL. We have done many songs
with A-Phat Productions.with there connection we got the opportunity to
perform at a show in NY.
I have to say I have come along way. I
feel very blessed to achieve what I have. It came from hard work and
determination. I know this is not the end. I have so much more to
achieve. Watch out for me..tell mi know!!!
