Dwaine Messado Biography
Dwaine Messado was born in Linstead Jamaica in 1986, and grew up in Ebony Vale, Spanish Town. He migrated to Canada at age six, but at age eight he was back in the Island of reggae music. Dwaine's love for music was evident at an early age, in fact it was almost destined. Dwaine's middle name is Elvis , which was his grandfather's favourite artist.
Dwaine attended St Jago High School, a very competitive school in the cultural arts. He excelled in the cultural arts and won many competitions in music, drama, and speech at the J.C.D.C (Jamaican Cultural Development Center) festivals. At a young age he dedicated much of his time singing at many venues around the island with four of his friend, together they formed the singing group "Living Waters."
At age fourteen Dwaine returned to Canada, he continued to write poems and songs in the jamaican dialect, but many discouraged him, saying there is no market for reggae music in Canada. Determined, Dwaine became involved with the Jamaican Canadian Association of British Columbia. He sings and recites cultural poems for many of the association's events including children christmas parties, and Jamaican senior banquets.
Dwaine is inspired by the likes of Sean Kingston, Kardinal Official, Shaggy and the Marleys, who keep reggae culture alive even in places where many don't understand the dialect. Dwaine's goal is to be a vital part of the longevity of reggae music around the world. His first single "Love Cures" produced by Randy Ponzio of "Quest Poetics," and Maffie Productions.
