There's no formula for happiness. But there
is a secret.
March 20th. And Skokka has a lot to say about things that maybe no one has taught
you yet.
Did you know
that there is an official day on the calendar dedicated to happiness ?
The UN, the
same organization that safeguards world peace and human rights, deemed it
necessary to set aside an entire day to remind humanity of something very
simple:
Being happy
matters. And feeling pleasure is part of that, even if no one has ever told you
that before.
It's the fault of a country that traded GDP for happiness.
The story
begins in Bhutan, a small kingdom in the Himalayas. While the rest of the world
chased after Gross Domestic Product, Bhutan decided to measure what truly
mattered and created the Gross National Happiness Index.
In 2012, the
UN adopted the idea. With the approval of all 193 member countries, happiness
was added to the world's official calendar.
What is happiness? Spoiler alert: it has more to do with your
body than you think.
It depends on who you ask.
Some people
are happy on a beach. Others, in an office. Some find happiness in the kitchen,
in their study, or in their own bed, exploring their own body at three in the
morning, without any guilt.
Science already
knows what society still tries to ignore: pleasure is health .
Pleasure
releases oxytocin, reduces cortisol, and boosts self-esteem.
It's not a
luxury. It's a necessity. And those who choose to live it unapologetically are,
quite literally, taking care of themselves.
And there are
those who found happiness in a choice that the world was slow to respect:
working autonomously, at their own pace, in their own way.
At Skokka, pleasure has a name, an address, and no guilt.
Here,
happiness appears every time a woman wakes up and decides how her day will be.
- No
boss.
- No
fixed schedule.
- Without
asking anyone's permission.
It's the
freedom to build your own income, explore your own sensuality, set your own
boundaries, and work in a space that respects who you are, without having to
apologize for it.
Because true
happiness doesn't come wrapped in gift paper. It comes from pleasure. It comes
from choice. It comes from allowing yourself.
A question that nobody asks, and should.
What gives you pleasure? Real pleasure, not what you were told
it should. What truly gives you pleasure.
If the answer
involves freedom, autonomy, and a job that respects who you are, you know where
to find us.
Happy International Day of Happiness.
From Skokka ,
with great respect for your pleasure, your choice, and your freedom to feel.
