- A British pilot thought to have been killed when his plane plunged into the Caribbean sea is being credited for saving the lives of all nine passengers on board.
Robert Mansell, 32, originally from Knowle in the West Midlands, had to ditch his light aircraft in the water off the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire when its right engine failed.
All the passengers managed to escape after the controlled emergency landing and were left floating in the sea until they were picked up by a cargo ship crew.
