June 1, Americans traveling by road or ship to Mexico and Canada will
have to show a passport or similar document to get back into the U.S. Travelers
will be required to show a passport or one of the new wallet-size
passport cards. There are also a small number of other federally
approved identification methods, which can be found at the State
