http://news.bn.gs/article.php?story=20090415144433368 - Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister, Patrick Manning has praised civil society for what he described as their “indispensable role.” As he officially opened the Civil Society Forum of the Fifth Summit of the Americas on April 14th on the Carnival Victory, which is docked in the Port of Port of Spain, Mr. Manning said the group has a critical role to play in the development of people and the governance of society.
According to the Prime Minister the evidence shows that without civil society’s presence in the hemisphere many in need of care and compassion may not have been comforted while others who faced misfortune may have been denied support. Read More...
