CRYSTAL Palace had to settle for their second successive stalemate - but their trip to west London was not a drab draw.

The biggest talking point of the first half surrounded Eagles defender Claude Davis, who was not punished when he elbowed Samuel Di Carmine in the face after just 17th minutes.

The Jamaican did go into referee Scott Mathieson’s book before the break though, but this time it seemed a harsh punishment. Again Di Carmine was at the centre of the incident, he stooped down to try and head the ball and was caught by Davis’ boot as he cleared the ball into touch.
