Mammadou, however, unlike me, has a very good taste of music. Not just any music, I mean music for the ear and legs (for those who dance) as well. In retrospect, remember those days when the late Lucky Dube was at his peak? Ian Jere, my classmate then in secondary school initiated me into the sect of Linton Kwesi, John Holt, Laurel Aitken, Lee Perry, Steel Pulse, Desmond Dekker, and Sly & Robbie even if you were not a reggae music addict, you could easily depict that these rhythms are hardcore. Then you wonder where these treasures were hidden when all best reggae in public domain was by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Burning Spear, Bunny Wailer, Alpha Blondy and the like.
