With the addition pack Reaper of Souls, Tyrael discovers D2R Items the Black Soulstone and attempts to protect it from the elements within Sanctuary. However, before he is able to do so take it away, he's attacked Malthael. Malthael was an Archangel in the realm of Wisdom who is now"the Angel of Death along with the Black Soulstone is stolen. Malthael is determined to wipe out humans, believing them to be demons, due to their ancestral roots as descendant of both angels and demons. He eventually destroys his Black Soulstone and absorbs the power of the Seven Evils before being killed by the player. He then frees the Seven Evils once again.
With the announcement of the next Diablo game coming up the players are looking forward to see what direction the series may develop the plot. Diablo is certain to be in the spotlight at some point, even if it's just through another character trying to bring him back. But, judging by the stunning movie trailer that was released to promote Diablo 4. it's clear that Lilith will be the main character in the coming title. Although she's appeared in a Diablo game previously the game, this seems like a revamp for the Daughter of Hatred and Creator of Sanctuary.
It is clear that the ongoing Eternal Conflict - the war between the High Heavens and Burning Hells - has taken tremendous toll on forces of both angels and demons. Additionally, it has having an effect on the mortal realm of Sanctuary. Diablo 4 will examine the power gap that war has created and the newly resurrected Lilith will take full advantage of this, especially with the Seven Evils now scattered to the wind D2R Ladder Items. She's an important figure in Diablo story, even if her presence in the earlier games was hardly noticeable and fans are eager to be able to see Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto playing the game.
