"Going to the beginning, I played the beta without paying a dollar," Burgess said D2R Items. "There was a small number of us on our team who decided to do that, as we wanted to find out what an experience like. In my opinion, I was at the top of the line Dark House in the Shadows.
I kept up with World Paragon, I was competitive in PvP, I frequently earned the MVP rank. So we're doing things to make sure it's enjoyable for everyone. If we are making a purchase we'd like to be sure it's a fair price. This is the main goal we're working towards on this front."
All of Diablo Immortal's actual gameplay content is free, and will soon be expanded on new types of zones, as well as dungeons. These will be added post-launch. If you don't want to pay a dime, there's a battle pass for free that comes with plenty of rewards in the form of currency, items and upgrades materials. In addition, there are plenty of ideas that were not incorporated into Diablo Immortal at launch, Burgess added, and these could be included with no cost in the future updates.
"We're going to keep releasing content on a regular cadence," Burgess said. "Our objective is to release content every few months, we'll release either a new dungeon or zone, and that comes brand new story content that players will be able to play." According to Burgess, the main campaign at launch is expected to take around 20 hours to be completed.
It's unclear if Diablo Immortal can make it to the line of walking the line between a genuine Diablo game and completely free-to-play MMO is yet to be determined however Burgess believes that players will be surprised at both the scale that is Diablo Immortal along with its place in the franchise.
"It's the kind of game that feels like a true Diablo game," Burgess said. "It's dark, gritty. It's likely to satisfy all the Diablo fans that loved getting scared when they did dungeon-crawls, they're going to love it D2R ladder items buy. It's an enjoyable game for people who've never tried playing a Diablo game before."
