Blizzard stated that some of the above-mentioned WoTLK Gold changes are already available for players of World of Warcraft through the 7.2 Public Test Realm patch The patch was released to January. The developer did not tells players of the changes immediately due to the fact that the studio was looking for "raw and honest feedback."
"When this feedback didn't appear, we assumed that meant it was a normal change--i.e. people who hadn't noticed it weren't worried about it, and those who had noticed believed it was okay," Blizzard said. "Clearly it was an incorrect assumption, and we should have brought an eye to it later in the PTR cycle so that we could have caught these issues before Patch 7.2 became available."
