In the end, there's a reason behind this D2R Items limitation. -21:9 breaks the game. Particularly, playing with an aspect ratio that is ultrawide means that players are able to attack from more boundaries than the game was made to work for. Players who are targeted from the greater range ultrawide monitors provide simply fail to recognize they are being targeted, and , as a result, don't respond.
"To safeguard the integrity of each player's experience and create an equal playing field for allplayers, those who have ultrawide monitors will be able have the game's screen extend to 19:9 (the maximum length of the in-game limitation zones) with a vignette positioned on the sides of the game and screen" Blizzard wrote in an official forum announcement.
"We know that players have spent a lot of money for their 21:9 monitor configurations, and having barred black screens can be very frustrating to their experience. We'll continue to examine these discussions and options that don't alter how the game is played."
Blizzard has also clarified their reasons in removing support for TCP/IP, one of the features in the first version Diablo. The feature was eliminated due to it "enabling serious security issues" in the game.
"We're aware that taking away this feature is a major barrier for the talented modders who are part of our community." Blizzard wrote. "Still our top priority is to cheap D2R Ladder Items ensure that the game's ecosystem is in the best possible condition to all of our players."
