In a debate about the
WoTLK Gold unique dragon racial skills-which
comprise the capability to fly into the sky, push enemies away with
gusts wind from their wings and then tail-whip them into the air--Day
explained that although Blizzard is focused on the Dracthyr's
capabilities that work well in conjunction with the Evoker They must
also work in tandem with other classes in the event that Blizzard ever
decide the Dracthyr could be a class in its own right in the future.
"Future Us might decide, 'What if the Dracthyr could be other classes as well?'" Day added. "Right the moment, it's not making much sense for them to be given the possibility of taking another class because they're mostly just getting up and learning about who they are and what their natural abilities are. As they interact with the world and discover more about Azeroth and the various races and the different cultures of Azeroth, maybe they'll be able to master some of the other skills. However, that's something for the Future Us thing."
Since the revelation of the Dracthyr and Evoker the Evoker and Dracthyr, many players have hoped this new race could expand to include melee-focused classes such as warriors or even rogues. While Evokers are magic-users who utilize the various power of the WoW dragonflights and the universe's fantastic dragonflights, the idea of playing as an axe-wielding Dracthyr warrior in the frontline or even another class that utilizes magic is an intriguing fantasy for a large portion of players.
There's a precedent to this too. In recent times, Blizzard has eased up on a number of the game's established rules regarding race and class. Dragonflight For instance, will allow it's deer-like Tauren race to become Rogues for the first-time. With this in mind it only makes sense that new classes be made available to the Dracthyr in the near future, but it may take a while before that dream can become something that is actually attainable.
WoW: Dragonflight is scheduled to launch before the end of 2022.
