Reaper of Souls launches tomorrow with new loot drop systems

One of the D2R Items 2019 rumours was that Blizzard had planned to announce Diablo IV as a Diablo Remaster, but that did not happen. The company did, however announce Diablo IV to much celebration from fans following the tepid reception to the Diablo Immortal announcement a year before.

The Schaefer brothers and Brevik created the first Diablo in their studio Condor that Blizzard purchased shortly before the launch of the first Diablo at the time of its release in. Erich Schaefer claimed that the purchase could not have come at more suitable time as Condor was in dire financial difficulties. He recalled that the studio was barely making ends meet, and apparently didn't have enough money to pay some of its tax obligations.

"We have never paid our payroll taxes. These are taxes that we deduct from the salaries of our employees, and we're required to forward them to the government. We've never sent it towards the authorities," Erich Schaefer told the AP. "We were almost in debt. One morning we go in and there's a notice on our calendar that reads "Three days to pay or you'll be in go to jail.' It was a rough. It was terrifying. We found a way to raise some cash (to pay the taxes) And luckily, the deal that transformed us into Blizzard was just the right time , which saved our stomachs."

The panel also revealed that Max Schaefer revealed that Condor signed to make the original Diablo cost $300.000. The amount was "woefully not enough." He claimed that the studio at the time which was "always at the end of its rope," which was very stress-inducing. The financial security that an acquisition by Blizzard could offer was appealing to the team. They later on went on to create Diablo and Diablo 2.

The first Diablo was a success beyond all expectations. The Schaefer brothers claimed that they had envisioned the game selling 20.000 copies that would have been enough for the sequel. The game sold more than that, and helped to establish the ARPG genre, which is now extremely popular today.

The Schaefers and Brevik left Blizzard after Diablo in the year 2000, and began to build new studios as well as work on new projects. Brevik had several roles at various studios during his post-Blizzard professional career. One of his most prominent jobs was the director of Gazillion Entertainment, which made Marvel Heroes. Then, he launched his own company, Graybeard Games, which is currently working on an Buy D2R items PS4 called It Lurks Below. In the last week the game was released specifically for Xbox One, in addition to PC.
