Based on RuneScape gold alleged activity in his profile after 2006, the internet was abuzz with rumors that he was still alive however, this was reported to be attributed to hackers temporarily gaining access to the account which was locked. Although neither is substantiated fully, this virtual equivalent of a ghost story can demonstrate another great thing about MMORPGs as a whole: a myriad of stories could be uncovered about players actually playing the game.
I'm not sure if that statue of The Old Nite still exists however it was located near the southern end of Wilderness (or "Wildy" in short) it was a vast area of wasteland in the north that is frequented by animals and player-killers. I never made the pilgrimage to the site to view it. I'm a fool.
One of the biggest weaknesses in RuneScape's game, and it might also be its biggest advantage, is one shared by almost every other MMO: the sheer length of its existence. Between the exciting PvP battles and quests is the continual grinding of routine household chores like fishing, mining or cooking for the sake of advancing or earn credits needed to purchase that new piece of armor. Gotta make money somehow, right?
While these activities may be somewhat relaxing, it's a lot of time that is spent doing the same thing repeated over and over again - time that may or may actually be more beneficial around with some shorter but none the less popular video games.
Instead of being a one-way battle, RuneScape is a painstaking war of attrition that is lengthy and tiring and it never ever ends. However, it can be extremely rewarding if you're willing to put the time into it, and that's what I was. At least for a year or two.
I haven't played many MMORPGs sincethen, to my eternal shame and loss. There are so many real-life concerns and I cannot afford to cheap OSRS GP allow them to lure me in. Of all games that I've played, RuneScape is by far the most time-consuming, with endless levels to attain and things to acquire. Some have even died during or in the aftermath of endless sessions of RuneScape's older but more popular sibling, World of Warcraft, which I guess also makes it an eerie game.
