A number of high school basketball players from Chicago have also been a part of the cause. These include Jahil Okafor, Kendrick Nunn as well as Quentin Richardson. Deon Thomas and Arthur Agee, William Gates, Deon Thomas, Deon Tom, Deon Thomas, Deon Thomsen, Tim Hardaway and Deon Thomas. Linnae Harper, a Chicago high school legend, has also joined the team of support. Keep an eye out for updates on their social media platforms while they cheer for the players.
"This event is an opportunity to bring children across the city together for one large event while also supporting worthy causes," said Matt Hoffar, co-founder of Gaming United and Managing Partner at Brickhouse Ventures. "And this won't be our final event. We're planning to host numerous tournaments throughout the season in different games, and in various cities."
Chicago Gaming United is a joint organization led by Brickhouse Ventures, TGS Esports, Abacus3, Edge Sports International, CyKam Consulting, and Georgia Sinclar Design.
TGS Esports Inc. hosts leagues and tournaments online as well as at the professional level. TGS is the proprietor of Canada's first dedicated esports facility, The Gaming Stadium, located in Richmond, British Columbia, which opened in June 2019. Since its inception, The Gaming Stadium has hosted esports tournaments for games such as League of Legends and Fortnite, as well as organized and hosted the Pinnacle competition at the River Rock Casino and the Burnaby Festival of Learning.
