Jazz is a genre of music that can be hardly understood by everyone. It makes the mood unusual and gives us an opportunity to feel the play of the instruments. I have listened to Lonely Woman by Ornette Coleman, Ghosts by Albert Ayler, and Bulbs by Cecil Taylor. I can say that all the three compositions have really impressed me. The main instrument is saxophone. In every song, it is playing in another way. This music sounds as if it is played spontaneously without any plan. It seems like the mood of the musician and his emotions give the rhythm to the song. This music makes me feel like I am at the real concert. There are no words; thus, I can hear the thoughts of the author through the music. I am not good at jazz and I cannot assess the professionalism of the performers. However, I have found the deep meaning of these compositions. The parts may not fit together, but the main thing must be the valuable story behind the music. I really think that all of these compositions might be the result of the struggle for achieving equal rights for African-Americans in the 1960s. I heard about some experience of the author and his willing to make everything alright. He might have problems, but he did not let other people see that. That is why there was not only the minor sound, but also a major. Frankly speaking, I have not opened jazz as the interesting genre of music for myself. Maybe, the love to jazz will come with the age. From all the songs I listened to, I would choose only Lonely Woman by Ornette Coleman, which I liked the most. I can listen to some songs like this in my free time, but it is not that type of music for everyday listening.
