I'd heard of the term tantra before but didn't know exactly what it meant. Something to do with kamasutra I thought. After having a few laughs about the idea my friend started to explain to me what tantra actually was, it's history and it's place in Hindu culture. Of course, like always, I had to go do my own research. So I went online and found A LOT of articles on the subject. Tantra was indeed a Hindu practice, that some people say dates back over 5,000 years. They actually used it as aid to finding spiritual awakening. Enlightenment was even mentioned a couple of times. I was skeptical. Why? Because I also found a lot of websites that saw tantra in a different way, seeing it more as a sexual practice, or even sexual service. This made me uncomfortable. I've had many normal massages in my time. But a massage where there is the potential to reach a climactic physical pleasure didn't seem to sit well with me. But the more I read the more I saw that tantric massages are about healing. They have the power to heal lots of sexual dysfunctions that people have. In the society we live in today sex is quite a twisted subject. Too many online videos have warped the minds of all genders. Tantric massages we supposed to be able to bring you back to the purity of bodily experiences with pleasure, without all the complexes and strange ideas about sex that today's society has given us. So, while I was visiting family in the south of Spain recently I went for massage in Malaga (if you ever wanna check it out). All I can say is that it was much more than I had ever expected. It allowed me to see the actual potential of my body without all the conceptual ideas I'd developed over the years. It truly was an amazing experience. I would like to write more about this in the future, and I will, when I have more time and if people would like to know more.
