Electronic cigarettes are battery operated devices that
consists of an essential element known as the e liquid. This e liquid is used
in the cartridges and is available in different nicotine strengths.
·
Components of E Liquid:
The three major components present in an e liquid: An agent that
is responsible for producing the vapor, nicotine and flavorings to add flavor
to it. There are two types of agents that can be used to create vapor. First is
the Propylene Glycol and second, Vegetable Glycerin. These are the most common
ingredients that are usually used in a vapor cigarette. E liquids majorly found
will be Propylene Glycol based. The Propylene
Glycol present in an electronic cigarette generally produces sweeter juices,
and fewer vapors. Vegetable Glycerin, on the other hand produces more vapors,
and tends to be less sweet. In some smokeless cigarette brands, the both
types of these components are mixed together. As vegetable glycerin is thicker in
comparison to propylene glycol, at times it is mixed with PG to be more soluble.
It is believed that the mixture of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin gives
more consistency.
·
Nicotine Strengths:
It is known that e cigarette liquids are available in
different strength levels of nicotine ranging from zero nicotine up to high levels.
The high e cig concentration goes as high as approximately 4.8% nicotine. In
common, the different nicotine level present in a vapor cigarette includes 6mg,
12mg, 18mg and 24mg. These are generally expressed in milligrams per milliliter
but can be converted to an approximate percentage as well.
·
E liquid Flavors:
The e liquid present in an electric cigarette tastes most like
that of a real cigarette and in fact, more than that. With smokeless
cigarettes, one can choose one’s favorite choice of flavor such as tobacco,
apple, orange, cherry etc. Keeping in mind the different flavors present in
different vapor cigarettes, it will taste different.
