Marlon King, the Wigan Athletic striker, has been charged with offences against a 20-year-old woman in a London nightclub in December.

The 28-year-old, who is currently on loan at Middlesbrough, has been released on bail to appear at City of Westminster magistrates court on February 25 on charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and sexual assault by touching.

King was arrested on December 10, after an incident at the Soho Revue Bar in Brewer Street, London, on December 7. The Wigan Athletic forward was on loan to another Premier League team, Hull, at the time of the alleged incident. According to the Soho Revue Bar's website, the club - formerly the Raymond Revue Bar - closed on January 29.
