LOS ANGELES -- A murder suspect living under a false identity in Jamaica has been arrested in the 1998 slaying of a German tourist at a Southern California seaside hotel, the FBI said Thursday.
Paul Carpenter, 31, had been working at a BMW car dealership in the Caribbean nation's capital of Kingston, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said. He was arrested Wednesday based on an anonymous tip to the FBI and was expected to be returned to California on Friday.
